The holidays are about being thankful for what you have, giving back to others less fortunate and, of course, reconnecting with friends and family. Eta Mu Chapter was recently able to reconnect with some long-lost brothers, including Greg Schneider ’73. Welcome back, Greg!

Greg shared what he’s been up to these past few years, as well as some memories from the start of Sigma Chi at EIU. Click below to read more.

In the hardscrabble world of the NFL, many coaches are here today, gone tomorrow. In fact, in the last two seasons, 13 teams – about 40 percent of the franchises in the league – have hired new head coaches.

All of which makes the tenure of Sean Payton ’87 in New Orleans all the more remarkable. The Sigma Chi brother and former Eastern Illinois quarterback is celebrating his 10th anniversary as head coach of the New Orleans Saints this season.

Core Values, Vision, and Mission

Core Values
Sigma Chi’s core values are Friendship, Justice and Learning. Our vision is to become the preeminent collegiate leadership development organization — aligned, focused and living our core values. Our mission is to develop values-based leaders committed to the betterment of character, campus and community.

The fundamental purpose of the Sigma Chi Fraternity is the cultivation, maintenance and promotion of the core values of Friendship, Justice and Learning.

In the pursuit of these high ideals, the Sigma Chi Fraternity is able to offer tremendous value in augmenting the collegiate experience and supporting the lifelong journey of each of its members. We hope to assist brothers in becoming men of character, caring husbands, compassionate fathers and community leaders.
